i have an interesting comparison with 3 headphones today:
they are Sony MDR V700, Song MDR 7506, and Sennheiser HD 202.

first from personal observation, i found DJs prefer the v700 while editors prefer the 7506.
second, with some help of the my friends, we agreed that the v700 provides more solid sound, gives it more weight like sitting in the front row; while the 7506 is more crisp, lighter on base and provides a feel of space while listening. its up to individual’s preference to decide which is better since they both lie in the same price range (~$99).

but if you only have ~$20 budget, Sennheiser HD 202 will be your ideal choice. its performance is about B+ if the other two Sonys are A, i think.

let’s give it a try. one more time.

after leaving it untouched for 7 months and attacked by 2000 spam comments, i think this blog is officially dead. i just postpone announcing its death.

i mean, who needs an online blog about daily things anyway? if i want to write sth, i write them down into my real journal where i would keep it private. if i have to start a blog again, it will be purely about filming and editing stuff. no plans yet.

does anyone really read this? i mean, don’t you prefer a more personal email from me?

Niaw’s performance has always been outstanding. And with the magic touch with a genius named Jeremy and a filmmaking blacksmith, Niaw is even doing better than ever. Jeremy is the most knowledgeable man about automobile that I have ever met. Although I only received two crash courses from him, I understand most of the mechanics behind Niaw that I am able to fine-tune Niaw accordingly.

Here are only some minor/easy tune up from the wisdom of Jeremy: spark plug, tire, engine oil, and the choice of premium gas. The result is magnificent: record high 51 mpg.

Then the filmmaking blacksmith decided to really make Niaw the true filmmaker companion: the mobile studio. He took out the back seat of Niaw to start with. Then he is going to completely re-do the floor with plywood and install a stable tripod where a regular crane can mount on it. The capacity of the back trunk is going to exceed a SUV, only with twice better mileage. The only challenge of the project is that it has to be an expandable, stable and artistic design.

So yes. The worst allergy is hitting hard on me again. But this time, not during the peak Hay fever season, not in the 60%-population-allergy-for-sure Japanland or in the lovely evergreen Minnesota spring time either.

-I am suffering from severe allergy in the driest New Mexico where I had lived healthily for 2 years of my life.

By severe I mean I cannot breathe, and the nose is completely stuffed by non-running-mucus and I can sneeze 7 times in 30 seconds (that feels good btw).

I first had severe pollen allergy when I was in deep depression in Japan. (At least that’s the justifiable reason that I hate Japan. Literally the Japanese atmosphere made me very sick.) Second time was during the stressful senior spring term in Carleton. I would never imagine that it would hit me again in New Mexico, and the worst is:

I suspect I am now allergic to the dust in the blacksmith shop.

This is really a nightmare! But I am not going to let those invisible particles to ruin my productive life as a blacksmith! They may attack my sinuses, but not my passion to this hottest craft! I am going to fight. I have the baking soda-salt-alkaline solution and the Neti pod as my defensive weapon. And I believe my determined mind would defeat the infected body.

Breathe while I can. The allergy strikes back. But there’s always a new hope.

Japanese is like the sniper rifle. I usually don’t sneak around bitching people. but I use it for such specific reasons that make me a sniper.
English is no doubt the shotgun. The most efficient weapon in the game.
Cantonese is the pistol. I use it anytime, anywhere, without worrying about ammo running out.
Finally, Mandarin is the magnum. The most powerful weapon, but either you hit or miss. limited 10 bullets only.
